My tagline, “Feel Less Shitty,” isn’t about being crude—it’s about being real. I fully believe happiness is possible for you and that healing can lead to a more fulfilling life. At the same time, I want to acknowledge that part of the journey is learning to navigate life’s discomforts with more ease. While I hope you achieve your goals and experience true joy, I also want to help you build resilience for the tough moments. My unconventional language is about finding balance—working towards happiness while embracing the reality of life’s challenges with a little humor mixed in.

Before we dive into the therapeutic work, there are a few necessary steps to get started. After our initial consultation, I'll send you some forms to review before our first session. You'll also be invited to complete an intake form to help me get to know you better. We’ll discuss things like scheduling, fees, and any questions you have. In our first session, we'll go over these forms together, and the initial sessions will help us find our rhythm and direction. Feel free to share as much as you’re comfortable with—we’ll fill in the details as we go.

Yes, therapy works. Sometimes we feel like we're burdening our friends with our struggles, and we need a space to process without judgment—a place where we can say hard things. Therapy offers that. Sometimes we just need to think out loud, get feedback or reassurance, or figure out what’s next. Other times, simply connecting with someone who is fully present and ready to walk with us on our journey is the healing itself.
Through therapy, you can gain so much—like healthier boundaries, greater confidence, and distance from self-doubt. It can help you improve relationships, decrease feelings of overwhelm, and navigate the beginnings and endings in life with more grace. You’ll also build coping skills and find new ways to manage life’s challenges. Therapy works because it offers the support, reflection, and tools we need to grow and heal.

Talk therapy is incredibly valuable for making sense of your experiences, processing your thoughts, and giving voice to your life narrative. It helps you understand your story and the patterns in your life, creating a foundation for insight and self-awareness. However, in addition to that, we’ll also work with what is felt in the body, tapping into the emotions and sensations that often hold the deeper keys to healing. This integration of both talking and feeling allows for a more holistic, integrative process.
Experiential therapy centers on connecting with the present moment, focusing on felt and embodied experiences rather than just talking about emotions. By tapping into the body’s sensations and emotional responses, we can access deeper layers of healing that are often out of reach through intellectual discussion alone.
A big part of my approach involves "reading the room" during a session, paying close attention to subtle cues in your body language or emotional shifts. At times, I might gently nudge you when I sense there’s something important just beneath the surface, or when it seems like we might be avoiding something that could lead to greater clarity. I’ll challenge you in a supportive way, always respecting your pace, but encouraging you to explore those edges where meaningful growth can happen. We’ll move forward together, allowing space for vulnerability without rushing, so the process feels both safe and empowering.

There’s no set amount of time or curriculum for therapy—it’s a unique process for each person. We’ll check in regularly to assess whether you feel therapy is still beneficial. We’ll re-evaluate as we work through the issues you came in wanting to address, as well as anything unexpected that emerges along the way. My goal isn’t to keep you in therapy forever, but to offer a place to land during difficult periods of life.
I’m available for short-term work if you’re focused on one specific issue, or for long-term, “depth” psychotherapy where we collaborate on a treatment plan and adapt as your life changes and grows.

Notice to clients and prospective clients:
Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
